July 2011,

Greetings from the Philippines! (I like the ring of that!) It's a wonderful blessing to be back home and ministering to the people that the Lord has called us to. We've been back three Sunday's and have seen great response with visitors, full altars and 3 souls saved in the services. We've also enjoyed many hugs from our adopted grandkids, and it looks like there may be more on the way...AMEN!

We had a fantastic start to the Mountain View Baptist Bible Seminary with the enrollemnet of 56 students. There is a very good spirit among the students. We had to make some changes in the men's dorm...7 students in some rooms with only 4 beds only! (Some were sleeping on the floor, but they didn't mind.) We did some moving around and made more space so everyone now has a bed. We thank each of you for your faithfulness during the year and a half that we spent in America. You were all so gracious and kind to us. Pray that God will continue to give us strength and victories in the months ahead.

May & June 2011

Dear Pastor & Church;

Excitement increases, with each day, as we prepare for departure. Boxes are packed and ready to ship, they are to be picked up the 18th of June. We almost feel like new missionaries going to the field for the first time. Pam has seen all of her doctors, for the last time, and they have all said that she is doing well and have given their ok for her to go. We hear of much excitement, in the Philippines, as they prepare for our arrival on the 23rd of June.

We have enjoyed some special times with each one of our children, and their mates, during this time in the States. Mike, our oldest, and the one that lives near where we head-quarter, told his mom that he wasn’t glad that she had cancer and had to stay in the States, but he was glad for the time that he has been able to spend with us, as it’s been a long time since he has been able to do that, as we are normally traveling so much. Our grandson, Devon, who is now 10, is at the point where he really understands that he won’t see us for 2 years. He told Pam, "Grandma can’t you come see me one more time before you leave?" (he lives in Maryland) When Pam told him, "No, we won’t be able to." He said, "Dad can’t we go to Kansas and see Grandpa & Grandma one more time?" Pam sat crying & saying "Devon, you are tearing Grandma’s heart out!" It is hard to leave them all, and Mindi, our daughter, is going through a particularly diffi-cult time now. We would ask you all to pray for her. We do know that they all belong to the Lord and He will watch them and keep them in His care. Each one of them have been, and are, a special blessing to us.

We received good reports, from the Philippines, over the last 2 months. There were 5 saved in the services at the Mountain View Bible Baptist Church, 7 were baptized, and over 30 visitors in the services, in spite of it being summer. They also had a good Youth Camp with 2 saved and many of the young people making surrenders in their lives. One of the pastors said that their church would have 11 students in the Bible Seminary this year. The week after we arrive school will be starting and we are anticipating the great victories that the Lord has for us.

Thank each of you for your faithful prayers and support and a special thanks to many who helped with books, instruments, S.S. lessons, and special finances for shipping.

Ready to Leave
