Pastor Kevin & Mrs. Metsinger:
Pastor Kevin Metsinger was born in Lawrence, KS in 1959. He and his family came to Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple in June of 1990. Since then the church has seen solid growth, both spiritually and numerically.
Pastor Metsinger attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and served on several church staffs before being called to pastor.
Pastor Metsinger and his wife Lucinda (Cindi) raised three sons: Jeremiah pastors South Knollwood Baptist Church in Topeka, KS. He and his wife Melissa have blessed the Metsinger’s with three grandchildren. Their second son Benjamin and his wife Kelsey serve at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple and work with the young people and the Christian School. The Metsinger’s third son Nathan and wife Lauren are students at Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City, OK.
Associate Pastor Jeff & Mrs. Quigley:
Jeff Quigley accepted Christ as a child and surrendered to preach at the age of 16. As one of three sons of a single mother, he was taught to love and respect the King James Bible by his grandpa, an independent baptist pastor.
He and his wife, Angela met at church while students at Pittsburg State University (Kansas) and they were married in 1991. They joined Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple in 1994, where he accepted the position of Associate Pastor in December, 1999.
Bro. Quigley’s primary responsibilities include preaching, leading the music ministries, and teaching the College & Career class. The Quigleys have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Haven and Grace
Youth Pastor Ben & Mrs. Metsinger:
Benjamin Metsinger currently serves as youth pastor at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple. He also serves as the Supervisor and facilitator of Shawnee Mission Baptist Academy, a ministry of Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple.
Benjamin spent his childhood years actively involved in the various ministries of Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple, Outreach, Sunday school teaching, children’s song leading, and junior church. In 2003 Benjamin graduated from Shawnee Mission Baptist Academy. In the fall of 2004 Benjamin enrolled in Heartland Baptist Bible College and graduated in 2008 with a BA in Biblical Studies. While in his sophomore year of college, during one of the chapel services Benjamin felt the call of God on his life to be a preacher of the Word of God. The following year while attending a youth meeting for one of his classes, God broke Benjamin’s heart for the youth of America.
Benjamin was married in June 2009 to Kelsey Ann. In September of 2009 the church body of Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple voted for Benjamin to become their youth pastor.
